This is the top-level directory of the bibnet collection.  Because
of the growing size of the collection, it has been arranged in a
tree of directories.

Each directory has an index file that summarizes its contents.
Each directory also has a 00dir.lst file containing an alphabetical
file listing, and a 00tdir.lst file with reverse time ordered file
listings, so you can easily find out how big the files are, when
they were created, and which were created most recently.

Effective 23-Jul-1992, an enhanced ftp server has been installed.
This offers additional logging capabilities for system
administration, and for users provides two important features: (a)
the ability to display a customizable message at login or when the
working directory is changed, (b) support for retrieval of complete
subtrees as .tar, .tar.gz, .tar.Z (or .trz), .zip, or .zoo archive
files created dynamically.  This makes it possible to guarantee
exact copies with preservation of file time stamps.
