Color, Colormaps and Animation Joint Scientific Computing and Applied Mathematics Seminar by David Eyre JWB 335, 3:15pm Monday, January 22, 1996 Abstract This talk is a TUTORIAL into the use of color in representing simulations. I will present the basics of color science, and color computer graphics. I will discuss the color representation of scalar and vector fields on R^2 and R^3, and show examples of good and bad practices. I will also demonstrate shareware to use, and customize color representations. Finally, I will present an introduction to video taping an animation from a sequence of images on the equipment owned by the Mathematics Department.
