Dimension reduction for molecular classification problems

Abstract:  Gene expression patterns in tumor cells may be used to classify
pathologies and determine therapies. There are many reasons that
to look for significant reduction in the number of genes necessary
to perform such classification. We will discuss these reasons,
some statistical and geometric approaches to determining useful small gene
sets, and visualization of the results.
