Cahn-Hilliard Hydrodynamics by David Eyre JWB 335, 3:10pm Monday, November 13, 1995 Abstract In this talk, I will present the Cahn-Hilliard Hydrodynamic Equations. These equations model a binary fluid that is partially miscible, i.e. the two fluids prefer to be separated but a transition layer is allowed at the interface of the fluids. In the discussion, I will present the some of the physical concepts behind their derivation, the equations invariants, an associated Lyapunov functional, simulations and some associated analysis.
