The data sets in Problem 1 are short one item. Add a zero
at the front of each data set, if you have an exam version 
dated earlier than 4 Feb 2004.

The answer check is a sanity check: evaluate the integral by
the rectangular rule to get an approximation to the correct
answer. This idea reduces to averaging the speedometer readings.

The pdf source on the web has been revised. The due date is moved
to 9 Feb. A reprint of the exam will be distributed on 6 Feb, which
was the old due date.
